SEIU Workers Unite in Solidarity on the Anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s Assassination
On Saturday, April 4
th
, fifty ULTCW Long Term Care workers and staff marched in solidarity with over 400 SEIU members, family, and friends on the anniversary of the day of Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination. SEIU 1877, SOULA, and the SCLC were represented. Holding banners high, they listened to speakers who cried out for quality education, secure jobs, safer neighborhoods, and equality for all. A giant greeting card was given to Speaker of the Assembly, Karen Bass, asking her to help remove the cuts that were made to the IHSS program. In addition, flyers with information about the cuts were passed out to the crowd.
