Kindred Workers Demand a Better Deal
Bargaining team continues to press for better wages, benefits and job security.

Your Bargaining Committee met with Kindred Tuesday, November 18th to continue to hammer out a new contract.
The workers - who represent Kindred employees from across California -- have several demands. They are asking for:
· An increase in Employer contribution to health benefits
· A raise that is the same for workers in the North and the South
· A guarantee that these hard-won gains will be protected in the event Kindred sells their facility to a new owner.
Your Bargaining Committee is not just fighting for themselves but also for those they care for. Better pay and benefits have been shown to result in lower staff turnover, which ensures a more experienced, stable group of caregivers for residents.
A week ago, Bargaining Committee Members picketed outside of Kindred’s corporate headquarters in San Francisco to show their unity and to bring pressure on the healthcare giant! Since then, the two sides have made progress on some issues, but they remain far apart on wages.
Workers who are interested in participating in the bargaining should contact Enrique Saucedo at (213) 210-6361.
