FMAP Bill Signed into Law

The U.S. House of Representatives passed and President Obama quickly signed into law legislation yesterday that will provide more than $16 billion to state and local governments to help pay for programs like in-home care.

That translates into roughly $1.3 billion for Medi-Cal, which funds California's In-Home Supportive Services program.
Thanks so much to everyone who called or sent emails to their representatives about this issue. Your actions made a difference that will improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of in-home care recipients and workers.

Of course, this new law won't ensure that California passes a budget this fall that maintains full funding for homecare. (Legislators and the governor are still wrangling over that.) But it certainly makes it more likely.
