SEIU members, staff and volunteers gathered in Culver City to support the Alliance for a Stronger Community. The Alliance is supporting democratic candidate Mark Ridley-Thomas for Los Angeles County Supervisor, District 2 in the upcoming November 4th election.
Always a supporter of long-term care workers, the Alliance for a Stronger Community used Saturday as an opportunity to advocate for Ridley-Thomas. By walking door-to-door and phone banking in swing neighborhoods, the Alliance helped set the stage for a victory for Ridley-Thomas and therefore LA County’s homecare, nursing home workers and working families.
ULTCW members Norma Cervantes and Jerry Jackson joined other members of the Alliance for a Stronger Community by speaking publicly about the importance of having Ridley-Thomas as our next LA County Supervisor for District 2. “We believe that Senator Mark Ridley-Thomas is the right man to lead us…his track record proves it,” stated Cervantes.
